1920s Rare Silver Gelatin Sequin Cap designer-jean-patou Exceptional strapless Givenchy Couture dressThis is a rare Juliet cap made in the 1920s. What makes it remarkable are two things. First it is made of gelatin sequins which are rarer and harder to find in such extraordinary condition. The gelatin will actually melt if it encounters heat or water. Second most of these are made on netting this gives the sequins a base upon which to apply them. This one (and the other found with it) was made by hand applying sequin after sequin on a cotton cording
