It is still cut loose through the waist but the waist seam is there and placed higher then its predecessors

I love the ruffled high double collar piped in gold and how that is picked up and down at each cuff too

This cinches down at the waist and then a stitched and shaped hip detail flares out over the fitted skirt

Rare large/full size bracelet has not previously been shortened nor altered

All these are flat - it will stretch several inches if needed

He launched his atelier in 1951 and though he was never a designer that was formally made a couture house he certainly produced clothing with many of the hallmarks that define couture, thus giving him the status as being known as one of the "American Couturiers". Here was have a piece that is likely late 1970s, early 1980s and is absolutely exquisite.
