My client had a photo of her mother wearing this that helped to date it and it's wonderful to know the proper time period. I love that this dress really shows Cardin's range and scope as a designer. He did evening quite well and it is refreshing to have a piece that walks outside of his 'space age' work that is usually linked with his name. The dress is cut to skim and hug the body.
