Antique Fire Screen, Gilt Gesso c1850 Gillows this sideboard presents ecclesiastical overtonesOur Stock # 10. 1478 This is an antique fire screen dating to the early 19th Century. Beautifully crafted in giltwood and gesso the screen frame is raised on elaborate scrolled feet with different masks looking out to either end; presumably the artist created them in the form of the original client's faces, who may well have the initials 'R.
