The back of the piece is also lightly textured as well

I added a nice texture pattern to the back of the setting and antiqued this piece (intentional darkening of the silver) to help bring out the depth in the pattern

Moving down in size makes the ends bypass one another while going up in size spreads the band apart

It's quite a process to melt and form silver in this way but it leads to a truly handmade piece

It's a very pretty stone in a hue somewhere between pink and red that I really like. I cut the stone in a domed oval and set it in solid sterling silver. I textured the back of the setting with a pebble like design. This is a large pendant for a datolite (they are typically very small) with a stone that measures about 20 x 16 in mm. The pictured solid sterling silver chain is 20 inches in length. I
