Positioning myself for sunrise I wait to the morning light to pick up more of this steam with the City of Denver in the background from just west of downtown

It's back to clouds and some rain in Juneau

and the float planes were coming back from excursions during the day

With some wildfires just southwest of Denver I headed out to City Park in early October to photograph the skyline at sunset

The clouds were starting to move in so I wasn't sure if the weather would cooperate however you never know unless you are there

Lassen National Park Size:16"x20" Positioning myself for sunrise ILassen National Park is located a few hours north of Sacramento. The park contains the southern most volcano in the Cascade Range which is Lassen Peak. Throughout the park you will find still active mud pots and other types of activity. I stopped in the park in late 2009 while on a road trip from Sacramento to Denver with a friend. Even in the short time we stopped at the park it was an interesting site to see in the fall and is on my list of places
