There is what appears to be a slight nibble in the front of the lid but on closer inspection looks to be a natural fault in the alabaster itself - Alabaster is a type of mineral that can be either gypsum or calcite

It could be figurine of an Indian goddess, maybe it is Laxmi (Lakshmi), maybe not. It is a handmade figurine, in excellent vintage condition. The figure has holes formed where the hands are we assume to take an incense stick. The figure stands around 12. 5cm tall, its age is around 40 years old we think but very difficult to be precise.
